So I’ve gotten a lot of emails from people who are having difficulty finding a niche. And the main issue they’re having is approaching me and saying, “Hey, Steve, I’m just not a creative person, and I’m having a lot of trouble finding a profitable product to sell online.” So today I thought I’d go over two tools that I use to help me brainstorm profitable products to sell online. The best part is that you don’t even need to be creative to use these tools because they will literally point you in the right direction for finding profitable products to sell online. Okay, so the first tool I’d like to discuss is the Jungle Scout web app. Okay, and this tutorial will kick off my blog at my wife quit her job.com. Okay, so I’ll just go ahead and sign up by clicking here. Then you can follow along with me as I go through this tutorial step by step. As a result, Jungle Scout is made up of two tools. The Chrome app was the first Jungle Scout tool. And it’s called the Chrome app because it’s a program that you install on your Chrome browser. What’s cool about the Chrome app is that it will give you an estimate of how much each product on Amazon is worth. Assume I went online and searched for a garlic press on Amazon. And I followed this Jungle Scout link. Jungle Scout will literally go through every single product on the front page and tell you how much it’s making, how many reviews it has, and how fast it sells. So, in this case, we did a search for “garlic press,” and it appears that the top spot earns $29,000 per month. And you can see all of the sellers, up to and including the top 15, as well as the number of reviews. Now, if you watched the previous article, I already gave you guidelines for selling profitable products on Amazon. You can also quickly determine whether this niche is profitable and whether it is overly competitive by using the Jungle Scout Chrome app. One issue with using the Chrome app for research is that you still have to figure out what to search for. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll struggle to figure out what to type in the search box, to begin with. As a result, Jungle Scout also has a web app, which makes the brainstorming process infinitely easier. So this is how it works. This is how the tool appears. And I’m going to the product database and clicking “Find Products.” What’s cool is that Jungle Scout has scraped every single Amazon product and created a database for you to research. So, let’s say I want to find all Amazon products that make at least $5,000 per month, sell at least 150 units per month, have less than 100 reviews, and sell for more than $20. I can easily do that with the Jungle Scout web app. So the first thing I do is select which product categories I want.
The Best product over the Online
So I’ll just select a couple of categories here. So, just a couple of notes: I always avoid electronics because they become obsolete so quickly. However, the majority of the other categories are fair game. So I’ll enter a minimum price of $20 and a maximum number of reviews of 100. And I’m going to say a minimum monthly revenue of $5,000 and a monthly unit volume of 150. And I’m just going to use the search function here. Okay, so Jungle Scout is going to return all of the Amazon products that meet my criteria. And what you want to do is look into these products. And these will frequently provide you with ideas for profitable products to sell on Amazon. And every single product returned will meet the criteria you specified in Jungle Scout. What’s great about this tool is that it frequently generates products that you would never have thought of selling on Amazon. And what you want to do is go through these products. Consider whether you can actually improve on this product in some way. And once you’ve identified a product that you’d like to sell, record it in a spreadsheet for future research. So, that was just a quick and dirty demo of the Jungle Scout web app.

Okay, so this is how the Viral Launch product discovery tool looks. What makes Viral Launch unique and different from Jungle Scout is that it will categorize all Amazon products based on keywords. As you may know, the majority of Amazon customers begin their shopping experience with a search. Viral Launch, on the other hand, takes all of the keywords that are searched on Amazon and categorize them based on revenue. Okay, fine. As a result, in this case, the interface resembles Jungle Scout. You select the categories for which you want to brainstorm, then enter the average price, average monthly revenue, and average review count. And Viral Launch will generate keywords that fit that description. What’s really cool about Viral Launch is that it will rate those keywords on Amazon BASED ON AN IDEA score. And the idea score is assigned on a scale of one to five, with five being the best. With a five-star idea score, the products displayed for that keyword will be in high demand and face little competition. You can now scroll down this list of keywords to see the average sales, average price, and an average number of reviews for the products associated with that keyword. Then it’s just a matter of entering these keywords into Amazon and using the Jungle Scout Chrome app to determine whether or not it’s a viable niche. Okay, so I’m just going to type in, and I’m going to use disposable wine glasses as an example. So I take this keyword, type it in, and run it through Jungle Scout. Okay, and just to recap, what I’m looking for in a good niche is an even distribution of revenue across all the sellers on the front page, at least $5,000 in revenue, and reviews under 100 or in the low hundreds. That is what makes a good niche to pursue. Jungle Scout has its own opportunity score as well. It indicates that there is high demand with medium competition. So, if you believe you can add value to a product found on Viral Launch or Jungle Scout, you should conduct additional research. So, even if you’re not particularly creative, you can use Jungle Scout and Viral Launch to easily generate hundreds, if not thousands, of products to sell online. And you don’t have to think about anything; just use these tools and let the numbers spit out potential products for you to sell.
